Bill,

I know there has to be a ton of competition for deHaan, so Im worried about expense and term.

Do you think there is any chance on a run at T. Enstrom for a short deal....or do you think his legs are shot? Not sure why, but the thought of him paired with Sanheim doesn't completely nauseate me.

Still wondering which one of Hagg or MacDonald would come off the second pairing to make way for De Haan.

The experience of the franchise for the last 10 years or so will and should make the team shy away from committing dollars and term this year. They're just not ready for that investment and they have too many holes to fill.

Whaaaat?

That isn't the company line. Big name FA now! Or you will be forced to become a Sharks fan.

Do you know the way to San Jose?
I've been away so long. I may go wrong and lose my way
Do you know the way to San Jose?
I'm going back to find some peace of mind in San Jose
L.A. is a great big freeway
Put a hundred down and buy a car
In a week, maybe two, they'll make you a star
Weeks turn into years. How quick they pass
And all the stars that never were
Are parking cars and pumping gas
You can really breathe in San Jose
They've got a lot of space. There'll be a place where I can stay
I was born and raised in San Jose
I'm going back to find some peace of mind in San Jose
Fame and fortune is a magnet
It can pull you far away from home
With a dream in your heart you're never alone
Dreams turn into dust and blow away
And there you are without a friend
You pack your car and ride away
I've got lots of friends in San Jose
Do you know the way to San Jose?

Nick Shore would be an interesting pickup. His possession numbers are strong and he has decent size and good wheels. However he doesn’t seem to score much or generate any significant offense. He’d be a great 4C, but I’m not sure he brings the offense you want in a 3C.

Any idea why Calgary think he's not even worth qualifying?

I think hes a good signing if theyre confident in Laughton filling the 3C role. He hasnt shown enough consistency to convince me yet.

So they have a lot of holes to fill, about $18m in cap space for three roster spots, but they shouldn't sign any free agents unless they come from the bargain bin.

Calvert and rousell should be 2 targets. Both can be had imo wont break the bank; in term or
Money.

Just fn eat half of Weiss contract or include a pick just to remove him from the roster. Trade raffle.
Give the bottom 6 a whole new look.

Tampa needs some cap space...

do you look at Johnson or Callahan if they retain salary? Say 2.00 on Johnson and 50% on Callahan?

I would take callahan off Tampa hands with no salary retention if they include raddysh.

Raffl is exactly the kind of bottom 6/PK player we need. He outscored Rousell last year, and wasn't far off Calvert.

It would probably lead the door to Tampa keeping Miller mcdonaugh and potentially getting tavares. But for us it fills our 2 year gap at 3c with a higher cap hit but won't hurt us and we get a budding prospect in raddysh who I absolutely love. Continues to fit our timeline.
